Protesting the depiction of Jodhaabai as Mughal Emperor Akbar’s wife in a recently released controversial film Jodhaa Akbar, some members of the Rajput community on February 16 pelted stones at Velocity multiplex in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and tried to ransack it. Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) city president Gyan Singh Chouhan said in a statement that it was a question of “integrity of Rajputs” as Jodhaa was never married to Akbar.
Action was taken on a complaint filed by the multiplex management. Police reportedly arrested eight persons, including two women, belonging to ABKM, for trying to ransack the multiplex.
