Patna, Dec. 8:

All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Bihar state president and MLA from Amour (Purnia) has alleged that he received a death threat on social media platform X on Wednesday by one handle named Amarjeet Yadav (@amarjeetya87982). Incidentally, his Facebook ID was hacked two weeks ago. The MLA has registered a case with police in this regard. His Facebook following was more than three lakhs and a half.

In a press conference on Thursday, the Amour MLA alleged that he had been threatened on X. He demanded action against the accused from the SPs of Kishanganj and Purnia. Mr. Akhtarul Iman lives in Kishanganj while his constituency Amour falls in the Purnia district.

The Amour MLA said that for the last few days he has been made a target of cyber bullying.

“The message on my X handle is very dangerous. In this message, one Amarjeet has declared me a member of Al Qaida and other terrorist organisations. He has threatened to kill all the ‘Mullas’. I feel that a deep conspiracy is being hatched against me. My popularity, my advocacy for the minorities and Dalits and raising voice for Seemanchal is probably not being liked my opponents. That is the reason I am being targeted,” asserted the four-time MLA.

He expressed his apprehension that he could be targeted by such elements. “I have always done politics of goodwill. I urge that the government search the person who has posted threat to me,” said the Amour MLA. He said the handle that posted the death threat has used the name of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and added that he was not sure of his affiliation to the VHP.
