All of the accused arrested in connection with the recent Nanded riots have been released after a Mumbai Court granted them bail on March 17. The accused were reportedly produced before the local court of magistrate N B Ghosh who granted them bail on a personal bond of Rs 7,500 each.
The police had arrested 29 Muslims after the communal clashes in Nanded district on March 13 following the playing of controversial Ram Mandir CD in front of a Masjid during the Shiv Jayanti procession. All of the accused were arrested by Shivaji Nagar Police Station. On the demand from the local Muslims and Muslim organisations, the Maharashtra government has ordered a probe into the case.
