All India Muslim Forum Stages Dharna Against Corruption

All India Muslim Forum staged a peaceful ‘PROTEST DHARNA’ on November 20 in front of Lucknow Vidhan Sabha against the rampant corruption in the country and steep rise in the prices of essential commodities. The protesters were led by the city president of the party, Mr. Mohammad Ibraheem, and the proceedings were conducted by the U.P. President, Dr. Aftab Ahmad. Addressing the gathering, the President of Muslim Forum Dr. M.K. Sherwani stressed that though by and large the corruption has become the integral part of Indian democratic polity, but the menacing proportions it has assumed during the recent times, when scams after scams are unfolding, it is posing a direct threat to the country’s sovereignty.  The U.P. President, Dr. Aftab Ahmad asserted that the colossal corruption prevailing in the country has shattered people’s confidence in democracy and its representatives. To restore the public trust in democratic institutions, he said it is imperative that an Anti- Corruption Investigation Agency be established. In his presidential address Mr. Mohammad Ibraheem declared that All India Muslim Forum will extend its whole-hearted support to each and every individual and outfit who are spearheading the movements against corruption. He lambasted the mischief of some political parties and individuals for attributing ulterior motives to the people who are fighting political corruption.
