The Central Bureau of Investigation is all set to file a supplementary charge-sheet on the cold-blooded encounter killing of Ishrat Jahan and others in Gujarat in 2004. Surprisingly, the name of Narendra Modi’s close aide Amit Shah is reportedly missing from the charge-sheet as the Bureau did not find any substantial evidence against Shah who was the Home Minister of the state when the encounter took place. However, the CBI has sought opinions from Law Ministry on whether sanction is needed to prosecute the officers of Intelligence Bureau who were king-pins in the fake encounter.

It is pertaining to note here that Amit Shah who is now General Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party is charge-sheeted in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsi Ram Prajapati and was arrested in July 2010 in this connection. Shah is now on bail.
