Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Professor P.K. Abdul Azis while appealing to the students to cooperate in peacefully holding the elections of the AMU Students’ Union said that the University administration is committed to hold the Students’ Union election and the process has already begun with the notification by the Chief Election Officer, Prof. Mursaleen.
The University administration once again clarified that on December 19, 2010 an agreement was reached with nine representatives of the agitating students in the presence of the officials of district administration and the University while honouring its commitment the University has withdrawn the suspension order of five students.
