A representative delegation of Anjuman Taraqqui-e-Urdu Jharkhand led by Prof. Abuzar Usmani, President of the Anjuman met the Governor of Jharkhand on Feb. 10 and submitted a 15-point memorandum highlighting the problems confronting the Urdu-speaking in the state.
A few points that were discussed in the memorandum are the vacant posts of Urdu lectures under the categories of SC & ST to get converted into the unreserved and OBC categories, Sanction of PG department of Urdu with the teaching staff in Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag), Revival of the representation of Anjuman Taraqqui-e-Urdu Jharkhand on the University senates as earlier demanded through several memorandums to the CMs and the Governors as Chancellor of the University, Urdu to be retained as a medium of Examination in Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Requisite arrangement to post the Urdu-knowing employees in Public Relations Department as needed.
