Several hundred anti-Muslim posters were put up around the George Washington University campus over the weekend, according to The GW Hatchet, a student newspaper. The posters said, “Hate Muslims? So do we!!!,” and featured a picture of what appeared to be a Muslim man wearing a suicide vest. It was not immediately known who had hung the posters. The university’s president, Steven Knapp, released a statement that said, “We do not condone, and we will not tolerate, the dissemination of fliers or other documents that vilify any religious, ethnic, or racial group.” Mr. Knapp added that “all known copies of this reprehensible flier were removed from campus buildings” by the university police, and that “an investigation was launched to determine who was responsible for creating and posting them.”
