The Government of Andhra Pradesh on February 2 started recruiting Muslims under 4 per cent reservation quota. This was one of the party’s election promises. The first to benefit from the reservation are 10 assistant engineers, including three women.
On February 2 these candidates had an interaction with Chief Minister YSR Reddy and Minister for Minority Welfare and Energy Mohammed Ali Shabbir in Hyderabad. They got the job under Backward Class “E” category. Eight of them got the job at Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation. The rest two have been recruited at Power Distribution Company. The 4 per cent reservation in admission to educational institutions had come into effect last year.
The successful candidates are: SKG Vali (Kadapa), SK Abdul Mateen (Krishna), MH Khwaja Mohiuddin (Adilabad), SK Rafi and SK Siraj (Nellore), Sk Yasmin (Khammam), Mohammed Khalida Begum (Nalgonda) and Sk Jehangir (Prakasham), Nader Vali ( Guntur ) and Zaheda Shaikh (Vijaywada).
