Azerbaijan’s Presidential Advisor Hikmet Hajiyev and Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the peace process during a joint panel at the 23rd Doha Forum on December 6.The discussion, titled “Armenia-Azerbaijan Lasting Peace: The Washington Agreement and a Joint Future,” focused on ongoing efforts to cement stability between the two neighbours following recent diplomatic breakthroughs.
In a post on X, Hajiyev said the session reviewed steps taken toward implementing the Washington arrangements, including confidence-building measures, economic cooperation and regional connectivity. He reiterated Baku’s determination to turn the South Caucasus into “a zone of sustainable peace and prosperity.”
Armenian media reported that Grigoryan highlighted growing trust between the governments and societies of both countries, noting that a “certain level of confidence” has begun to take shape among the two leadership teams.
Addressing the International Route for Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), also known as the Zangezur Corridor, Grigoryan said the project could create new business opportunities for Armenia by enabling the movement of goods and services through its territory, reducing costs and attracting investment.
“At the Washington summit, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States signed a document in which this route is called TRIPP.
