BABRI MASJID TITLE SUIT VERDICT ON SEPT 24

The verdict in the Babri Masjid title suit will be announced at 3:30 pm on September 24 by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. The bench will decide who owns the 2.77 acres of disputed land on which Babri Masjid had been standing for about five hundred years. Security forces have been put on high alert in Ayodhya and major cities of Uttar Pradesh. All leaves of security personnel have been cancelled by the Uttar Pradesh government. Thirteen companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and 22 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been maintaining vigil across potential flash points in Ayodhya and Faizabad. Prohibitory orders have been imposed in the twin cities. Many schools and colleges have been shut for the past 15 days. Their campuses are now serving as temporary paramilitary camps.
