This refers to the report “SIO Releases Students Manifesto for the Lok Sabha Polls” (Radiance 22-29 March). Apart from demand of value added quality education and review of contents believed to have been added to provoke the sentiments of one community against another, the demands to start election of students unions in various universities and colleges is noteworthy. The authorities who are against it believe that students union generally destroy property of the university during their protests. No doubt, it is a law and order problem but even if we consider the same arguments then why not all political activities should be banned because we all know how the laws are broken and manipulated. Leaders destroy more property of India than the university students leaders.
