In a press statement, Solidarity State President P Mujeeb Rahman demanded the State Government to prosecute the culprits in Beema Pally Police firing that led to death of six youths, for murder. He told that the steps taken by the home department are insufficient. Suspending four Police officers is only a token move. More Police have role in the incident. The delay in reaching the spot and failure in arresting the goonda elements are unpardonable mistakes from the part of Police. The firing was done crossing all the limits of human rights.
Many were shot from the back and above the chest. In such an incident, taking mere token steps is equivalent to mock the democratic system, he added. He also demanded to increase the compensation to the kith of dead and injured persons taking account of their miserable conditions. The statement also informed that Solidarity workers will conduct protest marches to major Police Stations in the state.
