US Imperialism Unmasked

The world watched and heard in astonishment, the outrageous US abduction of Venezuelan president Nicoals Maduro along with his wife. But the US has throughout history been known for mongering war, and the pretext of narco-terrorism is a veil, because Trump’s real objective is to exploit the world’s perhaps richest oil reserves of Venezuela. However, it is a dire warning to smaller nations, not to cross the path of the US ambitions under Donald Trump.

The UN has become toothless and world leaders are divided on domestic interests, and still recovering from the Trump-led tariff war. They do not have the courage to raise voices let alone take action against such audacious imperialist actions of the US. Condemnation from India has come, but leaves a lot to be desired. Time for the world to be on high alert.

Respected Dr. M. Manzoor Alam Sahab

I am deeply saddened by the demise of respected Dr. Mohammed Manzoor Alam Sahab, Chairman of Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) who breathed his last on 13th January 2026 due to old age-related problems at the ripe age of 85 years.

Respected Dr. M Alam Sahab was an advisor to the Ministry of Finance, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank. He set up the IOS as a thinktank in 1986 to promote research on marginalised communities and religious minorities. He was a guide to hundreds of research scholars and a tireless advocate of education, social justice and empowerment of marginalised communities. He obtained Doctorate from Aligarh Muslim University in Economics. He taught Economics at the Imam Muhammad bin Saud University. Several books compiling research and seminar papers read out at the various conclaves held by the IOS during the last 40 years were published during the tenure of his Chairmanship. Among his several books, “The Final Wakeup Call” is of utmost importance addressing media freedom, voices of marginalised communities and global narratives.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, well-wishers spread across the globe. May the Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
