Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi on July 6 said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wanted to convert the state into another Gujarat by fanning communal riots on Amarnath issue. She alleged that the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government was hand in gloves vis-à-vis spread of anarchy in the recent widespread violence in many parts of the state, particularly in Indore.
Ms Devi also alleged that police were acting as party during the communal riot in Indore and criticised the government for not allowing the Congress leaders including central minister to visit the riot-affected areas. She alleged that the government was harassing the minorities charging them as the members of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
