The word ‘terrorism’ has fully lost its meaning. Nowadays one can be alleged as a terrorist at one time and embraced as a messenger of peace at another time. To some the Ikhwan activists of Egypt are quite terrorists. At the same time, the Ikhwan activists of Syria are considered valiant Mujahidin fighting against Bashar Al-Assad. Needn’t we tell you that for Bashar Al-Assad, Ikhwans are quite terrorists. These political intrigues are merely a vicious circle of contradictions. Hizbollah and Hassan Nasrallah, who were famed as the champions of idealism and revolution and the rebellions against America and Israel, have summarily turned into the protectors of the cruel dictator Bashar Al-Assad, who massacres his people.
From 11 September onwards there has been a question as to who the real terrorist is. It has become a controversy. But it has not been defined unanimously. Everyone considers others who are not favorable for them to be terrorists, though they have not done any harm to them. But quite hilarious is that some are terrorists at some place and at the same time the messengers of peace at some other place, as indicated above.
The word ‘revolution’ has also lost its meaning. It has lost its spirit and soul. The thoughtless provocation made by misled and misinformed youth in Egypt on 30 June was more splendid than the French Revolution, according to Hosni Mubarak. All these innocent-looking words are being polluted. Has the so-called politician got any limitation? Even Machiavelli will wonder when he hears the contradictions of the modern political jugglers.
Some new hope and expectation has been advanced in between all these. A group of young people, who were part of the “Thamarrud” movement that toppled the Morsi government, has now joined Islamists who support Morsi. Why? Because they realised that the democracy that they had enjoyed is being kidnapped by the army. If the Egyptian media has been upright and straightforward, it would have reported that lakhs of youth have joined the company of Islamists.
It is quite memorable that a lady’s entire family that was against Morsi has now turned to the supporters of Morsi. This has occurred quite recently. Her husband, who had no relation with Ikhwan, had been brutally killed by the army. Besides the cruel murder, they ill-treated the dead body of that gentleman. The incident made the lady think of this in a particular dimension. The whole family became a strong supporter of Morsi. Likewise, many other families will be there to turn when they come to know the ultimate truth. The Egyptian media never allows the truth to let out. The hidden agenda of these media outlets in Egypt is quite terrible, quite incredible.
There is a vast empire in Egypt. It is the empire of Egyptian military. Most of gigantic companies are under their beck and call. They control the lion’s share of Egyptian economy. Egyptian military is not merely a military force but the pulmonary cell of the economic structure in Egypt as well. That is why they were able to make the Morsi Government barren and sterile. Only through continuous strikes they can be sent back to the barracks. That is why Ikhwan and Islamists continuously staging strikes against the military coup in Egypt. They may continue it till they succeed. One Ikhwan activist recently commended: “Our headquarters might be closed; our Telephone-Internet contacts might be terminated, but we will continue our strikes through the individual relationship. It is not our first experience.”
Nobody can eradicate Ikhwan. It is the hope of the entire Muslim society. It is quite deep-rooted. It will surely overcome the present impediments.
Last Friday, Sheikh Yousuf al-Qaradawi made a splendid ‘Khutba’ in his Mosque in Doha. He ordered the Egyptian military to go back to barracks. They were assigned to look after the frontier not to intrigue in political matters. He stated that the rulers of Egypt have crossed all the barriers. They have brutally treated the strikers. Even animals won’t kill anybody without reason. But the military has killed hundreds of people mercilessly with no reason.
He exhorted the people to rebel against the brutal government. He exhorted all the people including youth and even children to come forward. He concluded this speech saying: “Ultimate victory is yours. Allah will hear the invocation of the oppressed. There is no hidden barrier in between Allah and the prayer of the persecuted.”
Yet another good news from Egypt is that Christians have organised a campaign under the banner “Christian against Coup.” They started this campaign on Facebook. A Coptic Christian – Rami John – is the leader of this movement. It supports the return of Legitimacy and refusal of military coup.
This campaign received huge welcome through social media to the extent that within two hours seven thousand participants joined it.
Rami John, a journalist, said the movement like “Christian against coup” is the one that will bring the balance in Egyptian political street, and protect Egypt from the communal war that the security force tried to engulf Egypt in and failed. According to his expression, “the story is not about Ikhwan, but the story is about humiliation of a nation.”
The new movement opposing the military coup sees the problem in Egypt is not security but it is political. Political treatment is the only solution for the country to come out from the crisis. The movement wrote in its Facebook page that there is war against its members to close their accounts. The account of one of the founders of the movement, Mary Patric, is already closed. But the movement is determined to continue their struggle against the coup.
This report evidently shows the utter confusion and insecurity of the military backed Egyptian government. They try to silence every opposing voice, fearing the mass revolt against them. But they are indeed in the wrong side of the wind. It is a matter of time that they will fall.
