Capable Administrators Or Stricter Laws?

Confinement of a minor girl in Kerala and using her as a sex-toy for nearly 40 days by the elite classes, which allegedly includes deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha, PJ Kurien, is merely an example of how serious our politicians are to constitute stricter laws for the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.

In fact, what the country lacks today is capable administrators not stricter laws. The article ‘Does the Verma Panel Report Miss Underlying Causes’ (Radiance Viewsweekly, 3-9 Feb) discusses the issue thoroughly. Hence there is a need for better administration and mere laws will not be able to deal with the menace.
