Following a ruckus in the Maharashtra Assembly, a case of insult to Hindi and treason has been filed against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray with the CJM court in Jamshedpur on November 11.  Hamid Raja Khan, a lawyer practising with the district court, has filed the case under section 295A, 298, 153A and 121 of IPC seeking legal action against the MNS leader for insulting the Hindi language on the floor of the House.  The complaint alleges that Raj Thackeray asked his legislators not to take the oath of office in Hindi, which is an act similar to treason. The lawyer has urged the court to prosecute the firebrand leader and his MNS functionaries for indulging in activities that tantamount to treachery. Demanding withdrawal of the political party status conferred to MNS by the Election Commission of India, the lawyer also sought punishment for all the members of MNS including four legislators facing four year suspension from Maharashtra assembly for their misbehaviour.

Annoyed at the criminal behaviour of MNS legislators in Maharashtra Assembly, leaders in Bihar cutting across the party line condemned the incident calling for the arrest of MNS chief Raj Thackeray and withdrawal of his Z-Plus security cover provided to him by the central government.
