The President of United Muslim of India, Maulana Burhan Ahmad Qasmi, in a meeting, alleged that the UPA government is turning a blind eye to the issues that concern the Muslims of India. Maulana Qasmi said the government has not yet acted upon the recommendations made by the Sachar Committee and the Rangnath Mishra Commission, although the government itself had made these bodies. This attitude of the government testifies that they are not transparent in resolving the issues.

Maulana Qasmi also said that the state and especially the centre are exploiting the Muslims and are playing with their feelings. He alleged even after four years of its rule, the centre has not yet appointed anyone Chairman of the Hajj Committee, because of which Muslims are facing a lot of troubles. The Maulana also condemned the Karnataka government’s decision of making the study of Gita compulsory at school level.
