The present obligatory backdrop of CET tests as to get berth in the race of Medical or Engineering career has been gradually eclipsing the importance as well as the subsistence of Board examinations. The Board examinations has been reduced to mere formalities for the Junior college science stream students as the criteria is such that even if a student does top at Board exams will not qualify for medical or engineering berth unless he scores 185-190/200 at State conducted CET test. No mercy for his excelled Board result even if he gets inch short at CET result. This unfortunate missing co-ordination between the two life turning examinations has certainly left the students in a state of turmoil, frantic and unimaginably overburdened.
The CET authorities should consider at least 50% of Board exams marks along with CET results or they should bring down the minimum marks to be obtained at CET result from 180-190/200 to 150-160/200 for qualifying the career battle. The concerned authorities should introspect at such criterion since this will broad the opportunities even for those poor but assiduous students who cannot afford the high bid coaching for such exams.
