Gulab Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate of Rae Bareli Court, who was hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case, has been transferred to Aligarh. The High Court issued the transfer notification of Singh and 141 other judges, additional judges, civil judges, chief judicial magistrates and chief metropolitan magistrates on May 25. Following his transfer, the cross examination of senior IPS officer, Anju Gupta, in the Babri Masjid demolition case has been deferred to July 12. “Since new notification nominating new magistrate is yet to be issued by the High Court, the cross examination could not take place,” said K.P. Singh, CBI counsel.
