Clueless in Capital

Terror once again struck the capital of India. The blood splattered story of death and destruction has been repeated again. The inside and outside elements who are bent upon creating fear and hatred and thus destabilising the country are still busy in their heinous and nefarious acts of playing with the lives of innocent souls.

Terror once again struck the capital of India. The blood splattered story of death and destruction has been repeated again. The inside and outside elements who are bent upon creating fear and hatred and thus destabilising the country are still busy in their heinous and nefarious acts of playing with the lives of innocent souls.

However it goes to the credit of common Indian that now he has become mature enough not to get provoked by the provocations of criminals who are behind these blasts, whose sole purpose seems to be creating fear and hatred in the hearts of individuals and distrust and suspicion between communities.

The communal parties who are past masters in fighting in the troubled waters and playing on the fears and suspicions of not so wise persons, appear to be more careful in the changed scenario. This is perhaps because of the fact that now they stand fairly exposed after the revelations in the recent past of their or their members’ involvement in several bomb blasts including the one in Samjhauta Express in which scores of innocent people were killed. Otherwise these communal elements were routinely pointing fingers towards the Muslim community as suspect. Yet the atmosphere is not fully clear. The arbitrary arrests of Muslim youths and investigations in Muslim localities strengthen the suspicion in the hearts of members of the majority community that some Muslims might be involved in these blasts.

Let us hope that police and investigating agencies would do their duty honestly and succeed in apprehending the real culprits behind these heinous crimes against humanity.

One big question which stares in the face is why our intelligence agencies fail again and again in preventing recurrence of such ghastly terror attacks?

More important question is why the CCTV cameras were not installed on the High Court gates and in the premises when a blast had taken place there earlier in May last. Is it not the worst type of negligence? Can there be any excuse for this dereliction of duty?

Unfortunately even after three days after the occurrence of this terrible terror act our police and investigating agencies are clueless. Effective monitoring, honest investigation and apprehending the minds and hands behind the terror is a must for preventing recurrence of such acts and restoring the confidence of Indian citizens.
