Apropos your editorial captioned “Let’s Save the History of India” published in your magazine Radiance dated 5-11 June 2016, I would like to state that every right thinking person would share your views expressed here. Undoubtedly, the present government at the Centre has been persistently and systematically engaging in the process of making its Hindutva policy a success. For the accomplishment of this most cherished objective (of theirs), it is rather compulsory to instil in the young brains in the educational institutions the distorted and perverted facts and figures of the history of India. The history of the political leaders and great thinkers, whose freedom struggle made India free, is the most glittering one. It is quite shameful that they are being ignored.
You have rightly raised the question whether the source of knowledge (history) of the past is ‘dependable’. By quoting the remarkable line of renowned poet and critic T.S. Eliot about history, your views have become more comprehensive, authentic and solid.
You have rightly said, “….Rewriting of history or what they love to call ‘curriculum restructuring’, which is always done with jaundiced eyes, is en-vogue”. This is but a brilliant piece of writing and exposition of excellent views of yours. While arguing on the subject, you have mentioned Tripura where students at a certain level are taught lessons on Marx, Hitler, Mussolini, Nazism et el instead of placing before them the glittering history of India’s freedom struggle and luminaries whose contributions helped us throw the yoke of British slavery.
You have rightly opined in the concluding para that the civil society must ‘come forward to save the history of India’. It is quite certain that political and apolitical leaders would totally fail in achieving success in their mission, for such ideas and philosophy have never been successful in taking a nation to the shore of success and bringing about all round development and prosperity in the society,  except socio-political upheavals and destruction.
One must share your view and one, who is rational and right-thinking, must take every possible measure to thwart the ulterior motive and ugly design of the elements who have been beating the drum of being true ‘nationals and genuine patriots’. But, on the contrary, their deeds and words expose their true colour. They are sure to meet with their own doom.
