According to the reports people allegedly belonging to Hindutva communal outfits such as RSS, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena etc are distributing CDs entitled ‘Banyengay Mandir’ in Nanded. These CDs are based on some Hindi film songs and music. These songs are played back in with scenes depicting Hindu religious ceremonies. The opening lines of two of the songs are: ‘Chalo Tocket Kata Lo Ayodhya Ka’ (Get a Ticket for Ayodhya) and ‘Chalo Mandir Ka Kholein Tala’ (Let’s open the lock of Mandir). These songs are played with footages of Babri Masjid demolition. These songs were played on the loudspeaker by the activists Shiv Sena while passing by the Jamia Mosque in Nanded.  Shiv Sena activists were raising the slogans such as ‘Muslims Go Back to Your Ancestral Land (Pakistan)’.

When the situation deteriorated the police imposed a curfew to bring the situation under control. The police also took into possession one of the CDs of   ‘Banyengay Mandir’. Police sources reported to have said that the said CD is not prepared in Nanded. However, police suspect that these had been smuggled into Nanded one day before the procession. The CDs contain the logo of ‘Ambay Series’. The Superintendent of Police stated that during the past two years the police had pounded three to four copies of the CDs but its supply could not be stopped. The SP Nanded accepted that these provocative CDs are being sold in the markets without any check. He also revealed that he was soon going to send the report regarding these CDs to the Home Ministry.
