In a three-session conference held in the Capital on April 4, a voluntary organisation called Aantrik Visthapit Haq Rakshak Samiti has demanded from the Government of India to give due compensation to the victims of Gujarat massacre 2002 and take immediate measures to rehabilitate them in a fairly unbiased manner.
The victims of Gujarat massacre informed the gathering about the strivings they have made for their due compensation and rehabilitation so far as well as the difficulties and hurdles they have been facing in the way.
In reaction to neglecting the issue of due compensation to and rehabilitation of Gujarat victims in the Cabinet discussion on March 22 last, the organisation also formed a panel consisting of former Chief Justice of India A.M. Ahmedi, member National Commission for Minorities Professor Zoya Hasan etc.
