If you are not caller for God, you will be listeners to others. All nations and civilizations will stand up as a challenge against your national and civilizational identity. For this not only you but the whole community will face problems and they are facing. These views were expressed by Nazrul Hafiz Nadvi, a teacher of Darul Uloom, Nadwatul Ulema, Lucknow, during the annual programme “Ilmi Majlis” of Salman Academy, Bhopal on February 17, 2011.
Maulana Nazrul Hafiz said that today great efforts are being made for Dawah but sometimes it seems that for Dawah, the workers become very involved in irrelevant things and as such they face problems. Mr Hafiz said that everyone can present Islam to others and everyone should do it. But it is necessary for a Da’ee that he should be equipped with two weapons – sound and sincere in action and aware of background of the target community. With these two characteristics one can fulfil the obligation to disseminate Islam.
Maulana Nazrul Hafiz further said that one can do Dawah not only by organising programmes, conventions, and seminars but by arranging Darse Qur’ān and Hadith as well. There should be coaching classes for the dissemination of Islamic Knowledge.
Citing the Qur’ānic verse, “We have made you the best in all humanity because you propagate right things and forbid people from wrong doings,” Maulana Salimurahman Khan, the great Mufti of Japan said this Ayah should serve as guideline for every Muslim. He further said that he has followed these principles for Dawah purposes, and there are 5 lakh Muslims and 70 registered Mosques in Japan. People are coming in large numbers to learn the Qur’ān and Hadith in these mosques. Practically and by character Japanese Muslims are good. Therefore propagation of Islam is easy there.
