The historical Hooghly Madrasa is likely to close its educational process any time as it has been trapped between the cold war of Directorate of School Education (DSE) and Directorate of Madrasa Education (DME). This is the sole Madrasa of the state run by Haji Muhammad Trust. The Madrasa which had been functioning smoothly under DSE for a long time is going to be handed over to DME by the government. The government has also decided to transfer all the sitting teachers of Madrasa. The DME will appoint all new teachers and run the Madrasa. Now the Madrasa will be de-recognised. So on the name of educational reform a conspiracy is being hatched to close the Madarsa.
