Bhopal, March 5:

All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Madhya Pradesh hosted a Convention of Unani Doctors under the chairmanship of Professor Mushtaq Ahmed.

In his presidential address, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed said the future of Unani medicine in India is bright. With the establishment of Ministry of AYUSH, Unani medicine, like as Ayurveda, is continuously developing.

“If the officers in AYUSH give up negative thinking and work positively, and provide equal development opportunities to indigenous medicine being practiced in India, we will become the number one to establish a better health system in the world,” he said.

He further said that prominent freedom fighter and son of the soil Hakeem Ajmal Khan was the first in India who not only dreamed of integration of Unani medicine in medical science, but also put it into practice by establishing Ayurveda and Unani College. So, the AYUSH campus in Bhopal should be converted into Hakeem Ajmal Khan AYUSH University.

Chief Guest of the program and Commissioner, Department of AYUSH, Smt. Sonali Ponkshe, while expressing her satisfaction with the performance of the Tibbiya College, said the promotion and development of Unani medicine depends on continuing the research mission.

“We should strive to set out PhD in Unani medicine after PG in college. To get top position in the world, it is important that our students, who are the future of our country, study up to PhD,” she encouraged.
