Thursday, 26 February

  • At approximately 01:30, IOF moved into Jenin town and refugee camp. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested Hilal Yousef Zaidan, 25.
  • Also at approximately 01:30, IOF moved into Ya’bad village, southwest of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 02:30, IOF moved into Tarqoumia village, west of Hebron. They raided and searched a house belonging to Nazmi ‘Abdul Fattah al-Muraqtan, 49, and arrested him.
  • At approximately 15:00, IOF warplanes launched four air strikes on the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, near Salah al-Din Gate, Yebna refugee camp, Block J and al-Salam neighbourhood. As a result, three Palestinian civilians, including two children, were wounded.
  • At approximately 20:15, IOF warplanes bombarded the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, near al-Brazil neighbourhood, Block J and Yibna refugee camp. No casualties were reported, but Palestinian civilians were terrified.

 

Friday, 27 February

  • At approximately 02:30, IOF moved into al-‘Araqa village, west of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 12:00, medical sources at al-Zaytoun Hospital in Egypt confirmed that Nihad Mohammed Abu Kmail, 29, from al-Mughraqa village south of Gaza City, had died of injuries he had sustained on 13 January 2009. According to PCHR documentation, on the day he was injured the victim had been travelling in a truck on the coastal road leading to Gaza City. IOF troops positioned to the south of Gaza City fired at the truck. As a result, Abu Kmail was wounded by a gunshot to the head. The truck driver, who was not hurt, transferred him to Shifa Hospital. he was later, he was transferred to al-Zaytoun Hospital in Egypt, where he died.
  • At approximately 15:30, IOF moved into Beit Ummar village, north of Hebron. They raided a 3-storey house belonging to Mahmoud Saif Sabarna in the east of the village and transformed its upper floor and rooftop into a military outpost. A number of Palestinian children subsequently gathered and threw stones at IOF troops, who fired tear gas canisters in response. A number of Palestinian civilians suffered from tear gas inhalation. IOF troops stayed in the house for four hours, during which time they restricted the movement of its residents.
  • Also at approximately 15:30, IOF moved into al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron. They fired into the air and detonated sound bombs in the alleys, claiming that they were chasing a number of children who threw stones at Israeli vehicles travelling on Jerusalem-Hebron road, west of the camp. IOF troops also raided a house belonging to Na’im Hassan Jawabra and transformed it into a military post for several hours. They held residents of the house in a single room.

 

Saturday, 28 February

  • At approximately 16:00, IOF moved into Jayous village, northeast of Qalqilya, and imposed a curfew. They arrested Maher Mohammed Shamasna, 20.

 

Sunday, 01 March

  • At approximately 01:30, IOF moved into Qiffin village, north of Tulkarm. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested ‘Alaa’ Ibrahim Ta’ma, 24.
  • At approximately 02:30, IOF moved into Beit Ummar village, north of Hebron. They raided and searched a number of houses and questioned a number of Palestinian civilians. No arrests were reported.

 

Monday, 02 February

  • At approximately 01:00, IOF moved into al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested 5 Palestinian civilians.
  • At approximately 01:30, IOF moved into Nablus and the neighbouring Balata refugee camp. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested 3 Palestinian civilians, including two children.
  • At approximately 02:00, IOF moved into ‘Anabta village, east of Tulkarm. They patrolled the streets and detonated sound bombs. No arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 02:30, IOF moved into Beit Ummar village, north of Hebron. They raided and searched a number of houses and questioned at least five Palestinian civilians. No arrests were reported.
  • · Also at approximately 02:30, IOF moved into al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 03:30, IOF moved into al-Shawawra village, east of Bethlehem. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 19:00, IOF moved into Thinnaba village, east of Tulkarm. They patrolled in the streets and detonated sound bombs. No arrests were reported.
  • Also at approximately 19:00, IOF moved into ‘Izbat al-Jarad village, east of Tuulkarm. They patrolled in the streets and detonated sound bombs. No arrests were reported.

 

Tuesday, 03 March

  • At approximately 01:00, IOF moved into Nablus. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested 8 Palestinian civilians.
  • At approximately 01:30, IOF moved into Ramallah and the neighbouring Qaddoura refugee camp. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested 4 Palestinian civilians.
  • At approximately 02:00, IOF moved into Kufor Malek village, east of Ramallah. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested Mo’men Mohammed Shihada, 22.
  • Also at approximately 02:00, IOF moved into al-Rama village, west of Jenin. They patrolled in the streets and detonated sound bombs. No arrests were reported.
  • Between 14:20 and 15:15, IOF warplanes dropped at least eight bombs on the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, near al-Salam and al-Barazil neighborhoods, Yibna refugee camp and block J. No casualties were reported, but Palestinian civilians were terrified.
  • At approximately 19:00, IOF moved into al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north if Hebron. They raided and searched a house belonging to Yousef Mohammed Abu Ghazi, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 20:00, IOF moved into Hares village, north of Salfit. They closed the three entrances to the village with sand barriers and imposed a curfew. They then raided and searched a number of houses and arrested Ayman Rafeeq Shamlawi, 31. IOF withdrew from the village at approximately 06:00 the following morning.
  • On the night of 3 March, IOF moved into al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron. They detonated sound bombs and fired flash bombs. As a result, a house belonging to Isma’il Mohammed Abu Haniya was partially burnt.

 

Wednesday, 04 March

  • At approximately 01:00, IOF moved into Jeet village, east of Qalqilya. They raided and searched a number of houses. They violently beat Mahmoud ‘Ali al-Sidda, 17. No arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 01:30, IOF warplanes dropped at least 4 bombs on the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, near Salah al-Din Gate and Block J. No casualties were reported, but Palestinian civilians were terrified.
  • At approximately 02:00, IOF moved into Jenin town and refugee camp. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • Also at approximately 02:00, IOF moved into ‘Arraba village, south of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses, but no arrests were reported.
  • At approximately 12:25, IOF warplanes dropped two bombs on the Egyptian border, south of Rafah, near Salah al-Din Gate and al-Salam neighbourhood. No casualties were reported, but Palestinian civilians were terrified.
  • At approximately 14:25, IOF moved into ‘Ein Khair al-Din neighbourhood in the centre of Hebron. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested Marwan ‘Abdullah al-Qawasmi, 24.
  • At approximately 18:00, IOF moved into al-‘Araqa village, west of Jenin. They raided and searched a number of houses and arrested two Palestinian civilians.
  • At approximately 18:30, IOF moved into Beit Ummar village, north of Hebron. They raided a house belonging to Yousef ‘Awadh Badran and transformed its upper floor and rooftop into a military post. Soon, a number of Palestinian children gathered and threw stones at IOF troops. Immediately, IOF troops fired at the children. As a result, Tha’er Sa’id Abu ‘Ayash, 17, was seriously wounded by a gunshot to the head. IOF troops also arrested two children: Muntasser Braighaith, 17; and Mohammed ‘Awadh, 16.
