This refers to your editorial captioned “Deceit Thy Name is Atheism” published in Radiance (23-29 October 2016). The headline not only carries poetic beauty but is also mind-capturing. Like Shakespeare’s famous line ‘Frailty, Thy Name is Woman’, it also reveals, at least to some extent, the truth about the existence of God which the unbelievers audaciously deny, making utterly futile arguments. However, whatever is written and focused upon in the article speaks remarkably of the truth about the existence of God.

It would be quite relevant to quote one notable line of the great Urdu poet, Mirza Ghalib. Here goes the line “Na Tha Kuchch Toh Khuda ThaNa Kuchch Hota Toh Khuda Hota” (When there was nothing (in existence) there was God/ There would have been God (even if) there would have been nothing in existence). Almost all the religions practised in the world, speak empathically about the existence of God.

To establish the truth, you have used some beautiful words beautifully. Apart from focusing upon body organs, you have drawn on the canvas of mind some scenes of nature using beautiful words in a beautiful and captivating way. However, every right-thinking person will share your views that atheism ‘is a white lie and it always goes with traits like deceit and treachery’. As mentioned in your editorial, not allowing Swami Balendu, an atheist, to hold an atheist conclave in Mathura, is right and justified. Your argument on the point is commendable.

I take the liberty of commenting upon your editorial entitled ‘Let’s Realise the Wisdom behind Muslim Personal Laws’ (30 October–5 November). By placing facts and figures relating to divorce prevalent in both the Hindu and Muslim communities, you have made your argument quite rational and acceptable. Some years back a Member of Parliament also argued emphatically on this issue and placed before the members present in the sanctum sanctorum some reliable and quite authentic records to prove that the rate of divorce in the Hindu community was far greater than what was found in the Muslim community. However, every sensible person will share your views expressed in the concluding lines: “Instead of playing politics on the issue of triple talaq in the Muslim society, it should study and realise the wisdom behind the teachings of Islam.”  Besides, the central government must devote full attention and energy to alleviate the plight of millions of poverty-stricken masses in the country instead of playing party-politics game.
