The delay in releasing Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF) scholarships has left thousands of Muslim students struggling to continue their education and secure jobs, as colleges withhold their original certificates due to pending payments. SIO Telangana and ASEEM have urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene and resolve the crisis immediately.
“Students who graduated years ago are unable to apply for jobs or pursue higher studies because their certificates are being detained. This is a clear violation of their rights,” said SQ Masood, Convener of ASEEM, addressing the media.
Despite the Congress government’s election promises, official data reveals that not a single scholarship has been sanctioned in 2024-25. The Minorities Welfare Department’s figures show a drastic drop in disbursements, worsening students’ financial hardships.

“The government must release the pending scholarships immediately and direct colleges to stop withholding students’ certificates,” demanded Tajuddin, Secretary, SIO Telangana.
SIOTelangana andASEEM have jointly demanded Immediate release of RTF scholarships to prevent further academic loss, Strict action against colleges detaining certificates over unpaid fees, and Accountability from the government for failing to fulfil election commitments.
SIO Telangana and ASEEM warned that if the issue is not resolved soon, statewide protests will be launched to protect students’ rights.
