DEMAND FOR TABLING RANGANATH MISRA PANEL REPORT

After forcing the government to table the Liberhan Commission report in Parliament, political parties on November 24 demanded tabling of the Ranganath Misra panel report, which went into the socio-economic status of minorities. The demand for tabling and implementation of the report of Misra Commission was raised during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha by JD-U, SP, NCP, CPI-M and even the Congress. Raising the issue, Ali Anwar (JD-U) attacked the government stating that while it did not place the Misra Commission report along with the Action Taken Report (ATR) in Parliament, the same has been published in a Hindi daily as was the case with Liberhan Commission report on Babri Masjid demolition. The House was adjourned for 10 minutes during Question Hour when Anwar created a ruckus over the issue.
