The denial of admission to a 14-year old girl, Sidhra Malik, by several government schools in Delhi (“Muslim girl denied admission in Delhi”, Radiance Viewsweekly, 7-13 July) without any reason is shocking. It goes to reflect that communal hatred is deeply entrenched in the minds of many non-Muslims. They even don’t feel ashamed to do such partiality in public. This is a gross injustice to deny admission of a Muslim student to an institution without any sensible reason. The authorities of the concerned schools have violated the Right to Education Act. The persons responsible for this should be given exemplary punishment so that incidents like this do not take place again.
