The terrorist state of Israel is busy in its destructive war on the innocent citizens of Gaza. It added to its infamy yet another medal of brutality on February 29 by indiscriminate firing on starving food seekers in Northern Gaza. The whole world has condemned this yet another massacre of innocents.

The 23 lakh civilians of Gaza Strip were counting their days in the largest open-air jail in the world for the last two decades. They were at the mercy of the merciless terrorist state with doled out ration and financial aid provided by the international community under the supervision of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Before the war, Gaza was being supplied 500 truckloads of essentials every day. After the start of war, Israel imposed a ban and stopped food, water, fuel, electricity, medicine and all other things. Now under very strict conditions, only 50 truckloads are being allowed per day. People are starving and are almost on the brink of death. Last Thursday when some trucks entered Gaza, the starving men, women and children rushed towards the trucks so that they could get flour and some other things. But the cruel Israeli troops had planned death for them. Thousands of bullets were shot and at least 115 people died instantly and about 800 people were wounded. People are witnessing the ghastly scenes of murderous shootings, widespread bloodshed and screams of dying men, women and children.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, commenting on the failure of yet another resolution for a ceasefire, has said, ‘Worsening geopolitical divides have transformed the veto power into an effective instrument of paralysis of the action of the Security Council.” Most of the governments, including some Western heads, have demanded an independent enquiry into the latest massacre.

Human rights groups all over the world, especially in Western countries, have intensified their demands for an immediate ceasefire. Especially in the US, activists are vehemently criticizing their government and demanding withdrawal of support to the terrorist state plus stopping the supplies of bombs and other weapons of mass murder to Israel.

People are asking how we can claim to be civilized human beings when human blood is continuously flowing and a defenceless segment of population is being annihilated and exterminated. Let us wait and see when the human conscience awakes and people succeed in putting a stop to this dreadful spectacle of slaughter and annihilation of a defenceless population.
