“The State Government in Maharashtra leaves no stone unturned to project itself secular and BJP a communal party. If this is really the case, why is it ashamed of doing justice to the Muslims?”, Samajwad Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi asked in the Maharashtra assembly on April 13. Stating that despite Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) permission for the construction work of the damaged wall of Jama Masjid in Maloni, the police are not allowing the work to proceed. “It is because of the pressure from the communal forces that the state government and the police are not allowing the Muslim Association to complete the construction work of the wall of the Mosque”, Azmi said while participating in the discussion in the state assembly on law and order.

Observing that in the similar manner Al-Kabeer Slaughter House in Bhiwandi had been closed after Shiv Sena exerted undue pressure on the local administration.
