Police officers will not be allowed to swear their allegiance to the force on the Qur’an, home affairs minister of Netherland Guusjeter Horst told parliament. As is the case with civil servants, they will only be able to use a Christian or a neutral oath. Members of the armed forces and civilians working for the defence ministry are allowed to use the Qur’an.
