American Society of Nephrology inducted Anis Ansari, MD into Fellowship of American Society of Nephrology (FASN) on 7 October, 2013. FASN honours their member who has achieved a distinct level of excellence in clinical nephrology. FASN status represents recognition by the society of outstanding credentials, high professional achievement, commitment to the field and demonstrated scholarship.
According to US News, there are more than 10,000 Nephrologists in the United States, and only 1363 have achieved this honour so far. Criteria for acceptance are very stringent. Nephrologists not only have to be actively practising and board certified but must have completed a certain number of continuing medical education credit in Nephrology which can take many months if not years to complete. Besides, they also have to be involved in work that will distinguish them among others.
Dr Ansari is the only Nephrologist living in Clinton, Iowa and serving four counties for the last 14 years since joining as Medical Associate in 1999. He has written more than 30 medical related articles, many of them dealing with Nephrology issues. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Due to his excellent care, he has been recognised many times during the last two years.
