A book, “Dr. Mohammad Rafat – Ek Shakhs Sare Shahr ko Veeran kar Gaya (Dr. Mohammad Rafat – One Man Deserted the Whole City),” was released by Syed Sadatullah Husaini, President Jamaat-e-Islami Hind at JIH Headquarters on March 5. The book is compilation of articles and papers presented by a number of scholars, academicians and leaders of Muslim organisations, at a one-day international seminar  organised by Idara Tahqeeq-o-Tasneef Islami, Aligarh on the life and thoughts of Dr. Mohammad Rafat at Aligarh on January 31.

After releasing the book, the JIH President said, “ The death of prominent Islamic figure Dr. Rafat has created a vacuum which should be filled by emerging scholars. He was a man of simple living and high thinking. He had a very balanced perspective of Tehrik-e-Islami. Paying homage to the services and contributions of the late scholar, JIH President said that the purpose of holding condolences meetings and seminars on a personality should be to pursue his virtues and characteristics. His work will inspire the coming generation.

Earlier, the JIH President had presided over the seminar, organised by the prominent research institute ‘Idara Tahqeeq-o-Tasneef Islami, ITTI, Aligarh, UP. Dr. Rafat, who was one of the founders of the ITTI, Aligarh passed away on January 8, 2021.

On this occasion, head of the ITTI and former JIH President Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, ITTI Secretary Maulana Ashhad Jamal Nadvi, Chairman of Islamic Academy, Dr. Hassan Raza and all India President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Mr. Salman Ahmed also spoke.  JIH Secretary Dr Razi-ul-Islam Nadvi threw light on the content of the book.  Secretary of the Islamic Academy Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Rafiqi moderated the event.  A copy of the book was gifted to all the participants. The book (Pages: 264, Price: Rs.300) was published by the ITTI in collaboration with the Hidayat Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi.
