The students of the University of Delhi are on an open-ended hunger strike demanding hostel accommodation for all the students enrolled in the university. Parveen Kumar, a student on hunger strike, said the university can easily double the seats in the existing hostels to accommodate more fellows as most of the students cannot afford Rs 5000 a month for a single room near university campus. He further added that at least the university should allow its non-hosteller students to avail the mess facility.
