Whenever I receive any magazine, first I go through Editorial, which is the colour and quality of a magazine. I like RadianceWeekly Editorials.
RadianceWeekly rightly points out, this week about ‘Vande Mataram’ issue in its Editorial. When, our Nation faces many problems like Unemployment, Communal hatred, Rupee value downward trending, etc., our Double Engine Rulers, diverting public attention from it, by taking ‘Vande Mataram’ issue. It is to show Muslims are not patriots. It is adding fuel to prevailing communal hatred.
In the Editorial, the Editor pointed out,‘There is no clear line where praise stops for men and worship starts for GOD’ as regards the Hindus. Also pointed out Muslims who love Muhammad ﷺ cautiously avoid words meaning worship for him ﷺ which are particularly used for GOD.
Arshad Shaikh’s article ‘India’s Shrinking Economy’ highlighted increased concentration of wealth in the hands of a few.
Citing Manusmriti Sloka in its Judgement, the Bahraich Court clearly points out the Union Government’s mode of thought and mentality that prevail in certain parts of Judicial circle.

Anti-Muslim Stand
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) of J&K State has granted admission to as many as 50 students. These admissions are as per rules and the NEET merit list. The Medical College does not enjoy minority status.
Protesters belonging to Hindu Rightists Group objected to the admission and demanded cancellation of the admission. Their argument is that the Medical College has been set up from the donations by its Hindu pilgrims. The argument put forth by Hindu Rightists Group is untenable, unconstitutional, illegal and baseless.
The C.M. of J&K, Mr. Omar Abdullah has clarified the legal position in unambiguous terms that when J&K Assembly passed the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act and gave it the land for campus, it was mentioned that admissions would be made purely on the basis of merit.
The stand taken by the protesters is Anti-Muslim. The government of J&K should not give in and take stern actions against Hindu Rightists Group as per rules.
All secular and justice-loving people should support the Govt. of J&K so far as admission to the Medical College is concerned.

Blessing Prayers on the Prophetﷺ
This refers to the scholarly article captioned “Blessing prayers on the prophet” by Dr. Waquar Anwar (Radiance, 13 Dec.2025). I am fully in agreement with him that a Muslim who supplicates Allah’s blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺwill receive abundant rewards from Allah besides his intercessions needed for redemption in the next world. Conversely a Muslim will experience Allah’s wrath and curse upon himself if he hears the prophet’s name mentioned before him but doesn’t invoke His blessings and peace to the Prophet ﷺ.
In fact, it is an obligatory duty (Farz) for a Muslim for praying Allah’s blessings (Darood) and peace (Salaam) upon the prophet with a worthy love and respect (Taslim) from the inner recess of his heart especially during prayers (salat) whether or not he hears the prophet’s name mentioned before him. Allah has enjoined it upon Muslims in the Qur’an: “Lo! Allah and His angels send blessings on the prophet. O ye who believe! Send blessings and peace on him with all respects’.’ (33:56)
Muslims are required to send Allah’s blessings and peace to the prophet as he had to sacrifice his comfort, pleasure, wealth and even risk his life only for guiding and teaching people how to lead life as per the divine law revealed to him resulting in their success and redemption (falah) in both worlds. As such Allah has called him the Mercy of the worlds in the Qur’an:“O Muhammad! We have not sent thee but as a Mercy of the worlds” (21: 107). Won’t we now become a big miser and ungrateful to the prophet if we don’t pray to Allah seeking His blessings and peace for him while Allah Himself sends blessings to him and calls him the Mercy of the World (Rahmatal-lil-aalamin)?
