The Egyptian judiciary has decided to prosecute a well-known television station owner on charges of tearing up and burning a copy of the Bible. On September 25, Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah, who tore up and burned an English copy of the Bible during a demonstration outside the US Embassy in Cairo, was referred to trial, along with his son and a journalist who interviewed him.  Abdullah was filmed standing before a crowd and ripping up the Christian holy book. In another video, he made insulting remarks about Christianity. In Egypt, offending Islam, Christianity or Judaism is punishable by up to five years in prison.
