Mrs. Apapillai Khursheed Jahan, wife of Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Editor-in-Chief of Radiance Viewsweekly and Member Central Advisory Council and former Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, breathed her last at her residence in Vaniyambadi, Tamil Nadu on 4 May. She was 63.
As a Muslimah, Mrs. Jahan possessed qualities of head and heart. She used to do Dawah work among women. Only a day before her death, she gave a Dars-e-Qur’ān. As a Member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, she realised the great services Mr. Aslam has been rendering to the Islamic Movement. She not only let him fulfil his commitments to the Jamaat without thinking of the family responsibilities but also supported him economically by running her own business firm, Ameen Silk House, at Vaniyambadi.
Her funeral prayer was offered after Asr prayer before she was buried in a local graveyard on 5 May. She left behind her Mr. Aslam, their two sons and seven daughters, a host of grandchildren and other members of the extended family.
