In a powerful call for social and systemic reform, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Telangana concluded its 15-day statewide Human Dignity campaign with a massive public meeting at the Chanchalguda Government Junior College grounds on Feb. 1.

The keynote address by JIH Telangana President Mohammad Azharuddincentred on the profound historical endorsement of Islamic governance by the Father of the Nation. He reminded the audience that Mahatma Gandhi had famously cited the administration of Hazrat Umar Farooq as the gold standard for a just and equitable state.

“Gandhiji envisioned a leadership where the ruler is accountable to the humblest citizen. Today, our society grapples with rising crime because we have traded that accountability for corruption and political expediency,” Mr. Azharuddin stated. He emphasised that the Umar Model of governance – marked by transparency, fearlessness, and the rule of law – is the only antidote to the modern crisis of ethics.

Addressing the surge in the crime graph, the JIH State President asserted that law enforcement agencies must function without external pressures. “Laws exist on paper, but peace is established only when there is a will to punish the guilty regardless of their stature. Transparency is the missing link in our current system,” he added.

Maulana Jafar Pasha urged families to prioritise spiritual and ethical values in upbringing.
