Turkish police has now detained a former justice minister along with five others in the ongoing probe against conspirators for overthrowing the elected government in favour of a secularist military regime. This probe involving several army personnel is going for the last two years and it has made the army generals defensive as against the earlier threatening and offensive posture against the elected governments.  Seyfi Oktay, who served as justice minister in several coalition governments in the early 1990s, was detained after police searched two residences he owned in Ankara, according to the state-run Anatolia news agency.
