The article by Kashif Hoda “Where to Find Muslim Leaders” (Radiance 7-13 January) demands introspection of Muslims in general and the self-proclaimed Muslim leaders in particular. There are many disputes and animosity among Muslim leaders. Many leaders aspire for mere leadership not having any sense of sacrifice and commitment. Lack of unity and lack of knowledge in public affairs, lack of sincerity and want of integrity are are found as “qualities” of such leaders who are ready to fight on trivial issues. I would like to quote Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru “whatever change in social transformation has to be brought about among masses has to come from top to bottom and it never flows from bottom to top. If those at the top live up to the expected good within no time that good idea will percolate to the bottom”. Let us nurture exemplary traits and emulate the Prophet both as temporal and Spiritual Head.
