A meeting of the Executive Committee of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Telangana State was held under the chairmanship of Dr. A.A. Khan at Aligarh Building, Basheerbagh, Hyderabad. The meeting expressed grave concern over the deteriorating condition of the historic NizamiaTibbiya College, noting that the biased approach of the Telangana AYUSH Department has caused serious harm to the Unani medical system. Due to the continued shortage of medicines, the number of patients visiting the hospital has been steadily declining.
On this occasion, Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, General Secretary of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, appreciated the efforts of the Telangana State unit, stating that its persistent work had paid off – as it successfully prevented the reduction of student intake at NizamiaTibbiya College for the academic year 2025-26.
The meeting unanimously resolved that the AIUTCTelangana State would expand its activities further to restore the lost prestige of Unani medicine in Telangana.
He also praised Dr.Yunus Iftikhar Munshi, Director of the National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders, Hyderabad, for his outstanding contributions that brought recognition to the CCRUM (Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine). Several mega free Unani medical camps were organised by the AIUTCTelangana State in collaboration with Dr. Munshi, which proved equally beneficial to the general public.
