It was sickening to see on the TV channels a section of Gujarati people protesting against the arrest of senior IPS officers charged with criminal act. What was more ghastly was the manner some IPS officers in the State extended their ‘moral’ support to their immoral colleagues. One can imagine the extent of anti-Muslim hatred that has crept into the mindset of the people at large as well as the law-enforcing agencies during the rule of Narendra Modi. That was why the silent death of dozens of Muslim ‘terrorists’ in the State had hardly raised any eyebrow, when they were liquidated in a series of encounters on the fictitious charges of plotting to kill Modi. The Moditva forces seem to have set an agenda in Gujarat to intimidate and humiliate Muslims! The Muslims in India have an unequivocal faith in the nation’s justice-delivery system. They rightfully hope to see the guilty punished.
