Families of youth arrested in terror cases are planning to form their representative body to take up their cases in an organised way. Senior Journalist Mohammed Ahmed Kazmi led a delegation of 20 persons from the victims’ families and discussed the proposal with leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind on 16 December in the capital. It is the first time the victims’ families have come up with the idea to form their own representative body.
An indefinite number of persons from the minority community have been arrested in connection with terror blasts in the past 10 years in different parts of the country. In many of those cases, scores of minority youths have been acquitted while in many others saffron groups and activists have been found involved and arrested.
“The proposal came from Journalist Syed Mohammed Kazmi and supported by the victims’ families. The JIH has decided to support the move,” said Mohammed Ahmed, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
