Ibeg to invite your kind attention to the (1) signed editorial titled “The Loot at Ram Mandir” by Mr. Ejaj Ahmed Aslam, and (2) an article titled “Ram Temple Donation Scandal……..” by Mr. Abdul Bari Masoud. (Ref. Radiance Issue No.14, dated: 05-11 July, 2026)
The editorial and the article are excellent, bold and well researched. They expose the mindset of so-called religious priests. This is white-collar loot. Devotees’ faith has been shaken because of loot in the name of Rama. It is the case of a fence eating the crop.
My humble advice/ suggestion to the devotees is to switch over their hard-earned money to hospitals, colleges, schools, orphanages and such other NGOs where chances of misappropriation or malpractice are minimal, if not nil.
Let me conclude the letter by quoting our Prime Minister Modiji, “I will not myself indulge in corruption nor will I allow others to do so.”
Congrats to both the writers for their exemplary courage. May their tribe grow.

‘One Nation, One Election’Theory
The JPC committee is working on ‘One Nation, One Election’ theory. This is the most dangerous, and harmful for our democracy. If it is applied, definitely it will convert our nation into a type of Autocracy. Politicians, senior bureaucrats, NGOs, etc. should come forward and explain its hazards to the public.

Renaming of Suhrawardy Avenue
The government of West Bengal is considering the renaming of Suhrawardy Avenue to Gopal Mukherjee Road. Suhrawardy Avenue is a major artery in Central Calcutta named in 1933 in honour of Hasan Suhrawardy, a distinguished surgeon and the first Muslim Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University.
He shared paternal lineage with Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy. His residence at Park Circus houses the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission’s Information Centre and Library showcases a culturally composite heritage.
The decision to rechristen the road was on the cards for a while but confusing individuals and tarnishing their scholarly achievements underlines a serious dearth in historical awareness. Such selective denigration of Muslim personalities and their social contribution exposes a concerning desperation to rewrite history.
This renaming spree will eventually wipe out our cultural markers and replace them with partisan slogans. Targeting Muslim legacy will not reverse the horrors of Partition and communal riots.

Post-2005 Employees Deserve Pension Benefits
The legislators who are elected by the electors to assembly and parliament only for five-year tenure are not employees appointed by the government. Nevertheless, they are entitled to the pension and perks when they complete the tenure. Even if a legislator dies, his widow receives the family pension. Moreover, it is seen that most of legislators during their short tenure have been able to earn huge wealth and property disproportionate to their known source of income.
Regrettably, the post-2005 employees appointed by the government after going through different selection process are not entitled to the pension benefit on superannuation for the reason not known to us. Since India is a welfare state, its government is under obligation to grant pension and perks to all its employees on superannuation. In fact, if an employee retires from service without pension after rendering a long service to the nation, he/ she is confronted with acute financial crisis in old age when money is more needed especially for treatment. Since employees are appointed by the government, they are really more entitled to pensions on superannuation than those of the legislators.So, the government should take some pragmatic measures to grant pension and perks to its post-2005 employees after retirement from service just like the pension and perks granted to its pre-2005employees and the legislators in India soon.
