This is apropos the column Ultimate Success in your Viewsweekly (13-19 January). The writer has discussed thoroughly the main motives behind the tsunami of rapes in the country. Mere introduction of the strictest ever laws will not do any good to stop these brutal crimes. What we got to do is to create ‘a climate conducive to ensure safety and security to women.’ Here comes the time to propose some reasonable changes in the society as mentioned in the article. One more point should have been mentioned in the article that this is not a sentimental issue where girls come out showing some revenge-type placards, and then bury the issue until another rape occurs with an ‘unsaid’ political statement to make breaking news. We all should think seriously on this wild act and come up with a permanent solution to it rather than being sentimental.
